Our ethos and history?
You are possibly reading this introduction before we have even opened to the public so where’s the history?
Stubbs is the culmination of many years and many, many restaurant successes (as well as a few pubs, wine bars and diners). At the core of it all is a small team of serial restaurateurs, who have been working closely together for several decades. We all enjoy providing fabulous food and a fantastic ambience, in a casual, unpretentious manner so we came up with our plan… instead of running various restaurants and spreading our talent too thinly, thus not giving the best we could, we decided to concentrate all our skill under one larger roof….Stubbs was born.
The produce we serve is sourced from the best suppliers, who we know and trust completely (they too are doing their job with a true artisan passion, one that money alone does not buy!). And as for our kitchen brigade, they are real top end, professional career chefs, all of whom have learned the skills they have in prestigious venues, from old school chefs who taught only the classics.
You will most certainly find a plate of food cheaper than we can serve.
You will only very rarely find one that is as good value for money!
We aim to give a good quality but casual service. If you leave happy, that’s us satisfied! And if you return, we take that as an honour from you, our guest. We won’t ever take our guests for granted; we hope you’ll want to return time & time again. We are truly here to do our utmost to give you a special time.
